Peacemaker is a thrilling political drama series about the world of peacemaking, international arms trade and the deep-layered relationships of people in power.
The story takes place in Turkey, Syria and Spain, and thus, the series is mainly shot in the Canary Islands and Spain.
Peacemaker is based on the original story created by producer Johanna Enäsuo and scriptwriter Eriikka Etholen and the series is directed by the internationally awarded Finnish director AJ Annila (The Eternal Road, Sauna), who is best known for his visual style and unconventional subject choices.
The cast of the series is multinational. The four main roles are played by the well-known Nordic actors Irina Björklund, Mikko Nousiainen, Louise Peterhoff and Kardo Razzazi as well as the German actor with a long international career, Richard Sammel, who is known for example from his role in Quentin Tarantino’s film Inglourious Basterds, 3 Days to Kill and Casino Royale.
Peacemaker is collaboration between Nordic public broadcasters (YLE, SVT, NRK, DR, RUV), and it is an original series by Yle. Peacemaker’s international sales are handled through the Copenhagen based Sales Agent REinvent Studios International Sales.
